It was estimated that £550 million of avoidable food waste was thrown away from Welsh homes in 2015.

Welsh Water Organic Energy is working closely with Cardiff Council and the Vale of Glamorgan Council to ensure food and garden waste recycling needs are met across the region. This not only helps us generate energy, reducing harmful greenhouse gases and mitigating climate change but also helps the Welsh Government to meet its zero waste targets for 2025-2050.
